How to Install a Halyard Hanger
Installing a Halyard Hanger takes about 10 minutes and needs only a drill, a screwdriver and marine sealant.
Steps
- Choose a flat or gently curved mounting spot within easy reach of your cockpit.
- Hold the hanger in place and mark the two mounting holes.
- Drill 11/64-in pilot holes.
- Bed the holes with marine sealant to keep water out.
- Fasten with two #8 stainless countersunk oval-head screws, or through-bolt for maximum strength.
- Wipe away excess sealant, loop a coiled halyard through the paracord, and you are done.
What you need
- Drill and 11/64-in bit
- #8 stainless countersunk oval-head screws (not included), sized to your bulkhead thickness
